Our History
For over 45 years The Parent Place has been the local child abuse prevention organization teaching parents and local professionals positive parenting skills and techniques.
Last year The Parent Place served over 5,200 clients through various specialized classes, workshops, support groups for parents, guardianship assistance, extended family services, walk-in services, telephone crisis management, family mediation, individual family coaching, our diaper pantry, supervised visits and through our court mandated Positive Co-Parenting classes for couples going through a divorce or separation. Some services are on a sliding fee scale.
As a local not-for-profit agency we receive no financial support from any national organization. Our agency operates through the generous support of our local community members and state agencies.
Our Mission
The mission of The Parent Place is to teach positive parenting skills and techniques to nurture the families in our community and aid in the prevention of child abuse and neglect.
